Multistage pumps are common fluid conveying equipment in the industrial field. Due to their compact structure and high head, they are widely used in industries such as water supply, chemical industry, and power generation. Proper installation is key to ensuring the efficient operation of multistage pumps. This article will detail the installation steps and precautions.

 

Preparation Before Installation

First, check the pump body and accessories for integrity and verify that the model and design are consistent. The installation environment should be flat and stable to avoid vibration and corrosive gases. The foundation must meet load-bearing requirements and provide ample maintenance space. In addition, carefully read the manufacturer's technical manual to clarify installation parameters, such as inlet and outlet directions and motor rotation.

 

Installation Steps

• Foundation Securing: Place the pump body on a pre-cast concrete foundation and secure it with anchor bolts, ensuring a levelness error of no more than 0.1 mm/m to prevent excessive vibration during operation.

• Pipe Connections: The inlet and outlet pipes should be independently supported to prevent stress transfer to the pump body. During connections, ensure tight seals and use gaskets to prevent leaks. Ensure the pipe diameter matches the pump connection to reduce flow resistance.

• Motor and Alignment: The alignment accuracy of the motor and pump shaft directly affects operating efficiency. It is recommended to use a laser alignment tool or dial indicator to ensure axial and radial misalignment is less than 0.05mm.

• Filling and Venting: Before starting, fill the pump chamber and suction line with liquid and expel air to prevent idling and damage to the impeller.

• Electrical Connection: The motor wiring must comply with explosion-proof and insulation requirements, be reliably grounded, and confirm that the direction of rotation is consistent with the markings on the pump body.

 

Commissioning and Maintenance

After installation, perform no-load and loaded test runs to check for normal vibration, noise, and bearing temperature. During routine maintenance, regularly check seal wear and ensure adequate lubrication.
